I was looking for a specific book on Amazon recently and was surprised to keep seeing books for sale for ONE PENNY. I'm not quite sure how this happens, or why?  And I've no idea how these sellers can possibly make even the tiniest little profit on these books, but ours is not to ask why.  So I decided to bump it up a notch and check out the coffee table books and see if there were penny-books there as well.  And there are!  Quite a few, in fact.  I've pulled a few of the more interesting ones aside for your perusal.  So, if you're into really large, luxe books, GO SHOPPING, totally guilt-free!!  The following books can each be had for ONE COPPER PENNY!  In fact, if you were to buy every single book on this page, your total would be $1.43!! (plus shipping, which is a fixed rate of $3.99 per book, no matter the weight).  That's
ca-razy!!

Now THIS one looks like a good one...almost 5 pounds and 400 pages that gives you an overview of the Louvre's "greatest hits"...how bad could THAT be.  Hardcover/used comes to...let's see here....okay...we've got a total here of ONE CENT.


Yes, you can get the used, paperback version of this lavish volume about the National Gallery of Art in Washington D.C. for ONE PENNY or you could really live it up and spring for the used hardcover at $4.39.  It's almost 700 pages and weighs almost 7 pounds, and has 1,035 color illustrations.  Me, I'd spring for the hardbound volume.



This looks like a pretty great book....120 pages of pictures of really adorable mutts....COME ON NOW!  IT'S ONLY A PENNY!!

For the lush in your life, here's a heavily illustrated volume that will tell you every single possible scintilla of information about the martini you ever wanted to know.  Used/hardback is, yes, one penny.





This 4 1/2 pounder has 272 pages of everything related to the first 50 years of American television, as filtered through the editors of TV Guide, who should know what they're tawkin' about, right?  Used/hardcover, 1 cent.

This is the ULTIMATE Elvis volume....4 pounds of 400 photographs on almost 400 pages, photos they call "the unseen archives".  I love one of the reader reviews on the Amazon page...he says "Even the Elvis fan who hates reading will love it!"  I'll just leave it right there and let you take the low road yourself....and yes, the hardcover/used edition would be one single American penny.



And finally, in the penny coffee table book cavalcade, just in time for baseball season!  "Take Me Out to the Ballpark".  In its 144 pages, the description says, "Featuring hundreds of full-color photographs and illustrations of every Major League ballpark, famous stadiums from the past, and dozens of Minor and Negro league parks"....whaddya got to lose?  Even if you hate baseball....or even if you hate Elvis fans who can't read...just shell out the damned penny!


And I'm including two items that would fall into the "luxury" category, as they're not a penny....

First, the "It's A Wonderful Life Scrapbook:  The 50th Anniversary Edition" is for the real die-hard George Bailey fan (me!).  This book will teach you such arcane minutiae, why, you'll think you were right there with Zuzu and her petals!  This one'll cost ya, though....it's 31 cents.





And finally, this one is a book that no Sinatraphile can afford to be without.  Put together with the assistance and collection of the Sinatra Family, it includes a wealth of fantastic pics of all things Frank.  I have this one and it comes highly recommended.  But, as he was "The Chairman of the Board," of course, he's gonna be a bit steep.  This book, hardcover/used, is $1.05.
