If they were still alive today...

...today would be the birthday of....

The "forever young" James Dean would be 80 years old today.[lana+turner+in+feather+hat.jpg]

The "forever luscious" Lana Turner would be 90.

French author, "The Father of Science Fiction," Jules Verne, 183.
Judy Garland - Dorothy & Toto
Great American film director, King Vidor, 117.  He's remembered most for his memorable silent classics (The Big Parade, The Crowd, La Boheme), though his directing career continued to 1980.  He is also the acknowledged director of the "Kansas scenes" of The Wizard of Oz (Victor Fleming directed most of the rest of the film).

Cinema great Jack Lemmon would be 86.

Author/"Beat Poet" Neal Cassady, 85 (above, right, with Timothy Leary).

And a nod to Mary, Queen of Scots, who on this day, 424 years ago, lost her head.
